FAQs

Every Puppies & Pancakes home is different and unique. Each of our hosts go to a lot of time and effort to make comprehensive ‘Welcome Books’ for our guests with all the information they will need. We also go into a lot of detail in each properties individual listings on the booking platforms to answer most of the questions you will have. Always make sure you read each properties listing in full prior to booking. These are some of the common questions we get from furbaby parents wanting to holiday at a Puppies & Pancakes property.

How many dogs can I bring?

We do not have a limit on the number or size of your dogs, as such, it is always the behaviour of dogs we consider. If you are travelling with more than two dogs, we do ask that you contact your host and discuss this with them. We find the larger breeds can often be the quietest of all our fur guests, so please just talk with your host.

Can my dog sit on the couch?

We prefer dogs to not be on the furniture however some dogs this is the way they live at home. The homes will come with throw rugs to protect the furniture and it MUST be used. This is a courtesy to us to protect our furniture and a courtesy to the next guests. We prefer also that you bring your own throws for “couch puppies” as it helps us keep costs down with regards to linen cleaning and we can therefore keep our costs down to fur baby families.

Can I sleep with my dog?

We prefer that you do not, however, if that is the way your family is then we know it is going to happen. So if you sleep with your dog we must be advised in advance and you MUST bring your own linen including doonas. It is not fair to our cleaners or future guests to have to deal with your furbaby’s fur. I am sure this is understandable. Extra fees will apply if our linen is used and it is obvious that a dog has been sleeping in the bed.

Can I leave my dog unattended?

Not if it suffers anxiety when left. Only well-travelled dogs may be left unattended. We prefer you to take your dogs with you when you go out. Our homes are for furbaby family holidays not to be used as kennels or dog-sitting services for your dogs. If neighbours are disturbed by crying or barking dogs the owners will be called to come back and get them. If a service needs to be called to sit with the dogs, then a fee will apply. We have found over the years that most families always take their dogs with them on outings.

Is there a fenced yard?

We are asked this a lot and each home is different. We do our best to ensure that every Puppies & Pancakes home has a well-fenced yard for your dogs. Each home will have a description of the fencing in their listing details on the booking platform.

Should I bring my own dog bowls and beds?

Yes please. Along with throws to protect our furniture and linen for beds. We do have some spare bowls for those that forget.
